Courtney Stodden Did ‘Almost Succeed’ At Taking Their Own Life After Chrissy Teigen’s Horrible Bullying

Courtney Stodden is opening up about being pushed to the brink.

The American model, who now identifies as nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns, first became famous years ago for an eyebrow-raising marriage to much older actor Doug Hutchison. When they wed in 2011, he was 51 and Courtney was just 16 years old! For years, Courtney defended their relationship in the face of unrelenting and, quite frankly, monstrous bullying — even though she was clearly a VICTIM in the relationship. And one of the figureheads of that wave of online hate? Chrissy Teigen.

You may recall a bunch of offensive tweets of Chrissy’s resurfacing a decade later in 2021. Mostly horrid “edgy comedy” stuff. But it was worse in private! She allegedly privately DMd Courtney urging them to take their own life. Courtney revealed via The Daily Beast in 2021:

“She wouldn’t just publicly tweet about wanting me to take ‘a dirt nap’ but would privately DM me and tell me to kill myself.”

Vile stuff! People get prosecuted for this kind of thing these days… We mean, if they’d gone through with it… Well, it turns out they very nearly did!

In working through some of the trauma, Courtney, now 30, has revealed how dark of a place the bitter words took them to. In a new Hulu interview titled Impact x Nightline: Confessions of a Child Bride, they revealed the noise nearly became so deafening that they listened:

“I did actually almost succeed at committing suicide because of — this was a huge part of it. I had a suicide letter written.”

Holy– that’s just so heartbreaking. Courtney proceeds to break down in tears on camera, admitting:

“I remember my last thought was, you know, ‘Maybe I don’t deserve to be here when people that high up are telling me I don’t deserve to be here.’”

What an awful thought to have rattling around your mind as a TEENAGER. It’s truly just so devastating that the singer was further victimized by people they didn’t even know — and once looked up to — when these people could have provided support and a safe space for a literal child being paraded around by a grown ass man, a predator, as his wife.

Chrissy took a shot at publicly apologizing in 2021 after her tweets resurfaced, but Courtney maintains she never once reached out personally and privately to seek forgiveness — though Chrissy begs to differ.

We’re just glad Courtney was able to pull herself out of the darkness… She deserves so much more from this life. You can see more from the interview (below):
