Hottie Christina Hendricks from Mad Men is known for her curves, and at a size 14, she’s nowhere near the stick-thin Hollywood bodies we see so often.
But leave it to Mattel to warp her image and produce yet another unrealistic portrayal of beauty.
Hendricks has been turned into a Barbie doll, though it’s hard to tell it’s even her. Thankfully the red hair gives it away.
Gone are her curves and her thick waist and in its place is a flat, thin Barbie doll dressed as secretary Joan Harris.
An expert from the British Dietetic Association, commented, “There is no reason a size 14 can’t be healthy and attractive, so it’s sad and alarming that toy manufacturers can’t represent this.”
However, Mattel’s defense is that the doll isn’t representing Hendricks or her character at all. Just the show.
Says a rep, ├óΓé¼┼ôThe Mad Men dolls are styled to capture the aesthetics of the show.”
Lame! We want to see a Barbie with some curves!
