A Christmas Story Live Gets Roasted On An Open Fire By Twitter -- While The Greatest Showman's 'Live Commercial' Falls Flat!

It looks like Fox shot its eye out by turning A Christmas Story into a live TV musical.
The network’s retelling of the beloved holiday classic proved to be the gift that no one asked for. Not only was the three-hour telecast blasted on social media, it drew ratings that will have execs washing their mouths out with soap.
A Christmas Story was seen by a mere 4.5 million viewers and delivered a 1.5 rating among adults aged 18-49, making it the lowest rated of live TV musicals since NBC‘s A Sound of Music Live in 2013.

Ratings wise, Sunday night’s production paled in comparison to Fox’s production of Grease Live last year — which garnered 12.2 million viewers with a 4.3 rating — as well as NBC’s critically panned Peter Pan Live in 2014, which took in 9.2 million viewers with a 2.4 rating.
The ever-vociferous critics on Twitter weren’t too kind either. Users slammed the production as “a dumpster fire” and “the worst thing to ever air on television.”
Twas a night of plagued live performances all around, apparently, as even history’s first “live commercial” left viewers underwhelmed.
During A Christmas Story‘s commercial break, Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, and Zendaya performed a live number from The Greatest Showman and… well, we’ll let the video speak for itself:

Yikes. All we want for Christmas is for someone to autotune the Bearded Lady.
Does this make YOU want to see The Greatest Showman?
