Country Music Channel has established a new division that will produce CMT Original Movies for the network.
Yee haw!
First up for the network are two films premiering on TV in late summer.
To the Mat is a southern wrestling drama starring Ricky Schroder and actress-singer Laura Bell Bundy about an ex-wrestler who’s trying to keep his family’s down-and-out southern wrestling school above water.
New In Town Reel Love stars Renee Zellweger LeAnn Rimes as a successful, big city girl who returns to her small town roots after a family emergency.
She then embarks on a soulful, comedic journey to reconnect with family and friends and find meaningful romance along the way.
Wait, we thought these were supposed to be originals? Ha!
