Coach Wins $44 Million Suit Against Mom & Dot Counterfeit Op

Some people just don’t learn!
A New York- based designer-loving mother and daughter duo has lost a lawsuit brought on them by Coach Inc. for selling counterfeit goods on their websites Bellafashions.net and MyClassyFashion.com.
Linda and Courtney Allen will have to pay the company $44 million, stemming from 22 separate infringements on 11 types of goods, thanks to a ruling by Judge Colleen McMahon on Thursday.
Coach was also given a permanent injunction against the pair, which allows them to shut down their websites.
What’s shocking is they already had legal action brought against them by Chanel in 2007, which according to the judge, was the “same exact illegal conduct” on their websites MyClassyFashion.com and UltimateDesignersHandbags.com.
Since there was a prior precedent with the two, the judge said:

“Linda Allen plainly requires substantial deterrence because she has not been deterred by prior judgments. She persists in her contumacious behavior. This award may be crippling, but it is plainly needed to prevent Allen from going back once again into the business of counterfeiting.”

When asked about the situation, Linda Allen first claimed to know nothing, then she said “it├óΓé¼Γäós not valid” and that she hadn├óΓé¼Γäót heard about a verdict yet.
If you do the crime, apparently you’ll have to give up your last dime!
We wonder if Kelly Osbourne ever bought knockoffs from the Allen ladies.
