As some TV shows and movies cautiously return to set, extreme safety measures are being taken to protect actors and staffers! Now, we’re getting an inside look at what that looks like in the age of COVID-19 thanks to Hayley Orrantia.

Best known as Erica Goldberg of The Goldbergs, the star gave her TikTok followers a peek on Monday at what their series is doing to limit exposure to the virus and each other, while still getting back on track with filming season 8.

New precautions include actors wearing masks whenever possible — including going to and from the set, keeping costumes in clear plastic garment bags and shoes in plastic boxes, and storing personal clothing and items in a basket. At the end of the day, there is a labeled trash can for clothing to be placed inside. As for hair and makeup, the 26-year-old showed that she had been provided “pre-prep stuff” to do on her own before entering a separate trailer for finishing touches.

Once it’s actually time to shoot, the If I Don’t songstress revealed there is a green room waiting area, which is sectioned off by plastic dividers, to allow each cast member their own separate labeled chair to relax in before going onto the set.

Orrantia later followed up her video with a response to a fan who asked if they would be rocking masks while filming, sharing in response:

“Good question. Because we’re in the 1980s on our show, it doesn’t make sense to apply any COVID situations to our show, so we are not wearing masks on the show. We will be taking them off when we come to set, we have a specific box that I can show you guys where we keep all of our masks to go to our scene a and the second we’re done we have to put those masks on and leave.”

She concluded:

“It’s ultimately just to limit the amount of time we could possibly be exposing each other, crew members, so we won’t be wearing masks in the actual show, but we will on-set if that makes sense.”

So, what about getting to and from set? Hayley showed that, too! In a third video featuring co-star Sam Lerner, she gave a look at the transportation van where they were the only passengers along with the driver, who had a clear plastic sheet behind the front area to section things off:
