Well, sounds like Courtney Love’s rights to her late husband’s estate are dwindling down even more.
Reportedly, Courtney and Kurt Cobain’s daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, has recently obtained the rights to her dad’s name, likeness and appearance.
Back in 2010, Love received a $2.75 million loan from Frances’ trust fund and still has yet to pay it back.
Recent documents reveal that until Love pays back the loan, she will be unable to profit off of Kurt’s publicity rights.
The docs also show that Courtney decided to step down as manager of End of Music LLC, the company which is responsible for money made off the rights, in exchange for the loan.
For Courtney, this means that although she still owns about 60 percent of her late husband’s estate, she still has NO control over his image OR his music, which is owned by Primary Wave Music.
At least now we HOPE the late singer’s likeness is in good hands with his daughter.
