Proof that your voice can be heard!
Over the weekend, protesters at the Dakota Access Pipeline in North Dakota had A LOT to celebrate as the Army Corps of Engineers refused to grant permission to extend the project under a Missouri river reservoir!
The Dallas-based Energy Transfer Partners‘ four-state, $3.8 billion endeavor has faced protests for MONTHS. The Standing Rock Sioux believe the current proposal would potentially threaten their water source and just want to find another solution.

Many around the country have thrown their support behind the tribe’s outrage, including a lot of celebrities. Shailene Woodley was even arrested while protesting.
Now that the Energy Transfer Partners were denied their permit, the ACE has vowed to look into rerouting the pipeline!
Even though this is a HUGE victory, several protesters have said they’re staying put to see things out, at least for a bit, while other supporters — including A-listers like Mark Ruffalo and Taraji P. Henson — took to Twitter to share their excitement!
Ch-ch-check out all the celebs who threw some love towards the cause (below), and let us know if you’re happy about the decision to reroute the pipe!
soooo how many #NoDAPL babies you think are going to be made tonight?! 👅

CONGRATULATIONS and THANK YOU to all of the Brave men and women who have worked so hard to protect the land and the water of Standing Rock, NORTH DAKOTA. “Today, the US Army Corps of Engineers announced that it will not be granting the easement to cross Lake Oahe for the proposed Dakota Access Pipeline,” Standing Rock Sioux Tribal chairman Dave Archambault II said in a statement sent to BuzzFeed News. “Instead, the Corps will be undertaking an environmental impact statement to look at possible alternative routes.” This is a huge victory for America. #nopipeline #nodaplA photo posted by Troian Bellisario (@sleepinthegardn) on Dec 4, 2016 at 5:40pm PST
We’re definitely interested to see what other solution the Army Corps of Engineers comes up with, but until then, we’re cheering for the Standing Rock Sioux!
