This is so heartbreaking…
In Thursday’s new teaser for the Child Star documentary, Demi Lovato opens up about their troubling childhood. The former child actor (who uses she/they pronouns) revealed that back when they were just a kid, some of their peers in school made a “suicide petition”:
“The popular girls signed a suicide petition. Saying that I should kill myself.”
Gut-wrenching. We can’t imagine…

No more details were revealed in the clip, but damn. That’s so horribly brutal for a kid to deal with. Child Star is clearly not going to flinch when it comes to the touchiest of subjects. Good! The documentary, which hits Hulu September 17, delves into the upbringing of child stars, and features the Sonny with a Chance star alongside other famous faces, such as Drew Barrymore, Raven Symoné, and Kenan Thompson.
Toward the end of the trailer, the Heart Attack singer adds:
“There definitely is not a manual on how to navigate this industry at such a young age. I wouldn’t end up where I am had I not made all the choices leading up to this point. But, it came at a price.”
