Diane Von Furstenberg Apologizes For Comments On MOBama's Dress

The Michelle Obama dress controversy has been going on for a month now, and it seems like it isn’t yet going away.
If you recall, Mrs. Obama wore a gorgeous Alexander McQueen gown to a state dinner. That then caused a few fashion designers to speak out about MOBama wearing a foreign dress.
Oscar de la Renta voiced his opinions saying Michelle should have worn a gown by an American designer, as did Diane von Furstenberg, president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, who agreed adding she was a bit “disappointed.”
Well, we’re guessing someone had a talk with Diane, because the designer is now backpedaling. Diane now says:

“I said that Mrs. Obama has been extremely supportive of American designers, but clearly we were disappointed that she chose to wear a British designer for the state dinner…From there, I was so embarrassed that I am definitely going to write to her. She has been super supportive to American designers.”

Looks like someone is worried that Obama might never wear an outfit of hers again.
But really, why apologize if that’s how you truly feel?
What do U think? Should Diane have apologized? Should Michelle wear only outfits by US designers?
