Diet Pill Meridia Withdrawn From US, Canada

It’s about time!
A year ago, studies showed that the Abbott Labroratories’ diet pill Meridia increased the risk of heart attack and strokes in patients with a history of heart disease. The drug is finally being pulled from the shelves.
The pill will be recalled from both the US and Canada. Europe pulled the drug in January.
