Is This Fox News Host Replacing Sean Spicer??

Is Sean Spicer getting the ax?
On Friday, the NY Times reported that Donald Trump had suggested “Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle to allies as a possible press secretary.”
In case you’re unfamiliar with her, Guilfoyle was a regular contributor to The O’Reilly Factor and is now a cohost of The Five, Fox News‘ political roundtable show (Jesse Watters is another cohost, to illustrate how seriously no one takes it).

So is this switch-up really happening? According to Guilfoyle, it’s a real possibility. She told The Mercury News on Monday she’s in contact with members of the Trump administration, and that there have been real conversations about it.
But is she up for it? She says:

“I’m a patriot, and it would be an honor to serve the country. I think it’d be a fascinating job. It’s a challenging job, and you need someone really determined and focused, a great communicator in there with deep knowledge to be able to handle that position.”

That certainly doesn’t describe Spicey. But is Kimberly more qualified?
Well, she almost had the job back in January, but it went to Spicer instead; he had experience as the spokesman for the RNC.

Interestingly, while covering the job Spicer was doing last week, Guilfoyle said on air:

“If you want to be successful and do communications with President Trump, you have to be someone who he actually wants to spend a little bit of time with. You’ve got to insist on getting in front of POTUS, talk to him, and have like five, six minutes with him before you go out there and take the podium, and otherwise you’re driving blind.
It has to be somebody with a very close relationship, where there’s trust there, there’s inherent loyalty, someone who’s been there from the beginning.”

So does Guilfoyle think that somebody could be her? She told the Mercury News she’s been friendly with Trump and his family for years, as they first met through charity events when she was the First Lady of San Francisco (her ex-husband is former SF Mayor and current Lieutenant Governor of California Gavin Newsom — a Democrat and vocal Trump hater).

Guilfoyle also interviewed Trump on TV many times and says she really understands how to talk to him:

“I think I have a very good relationship with the president. I think I enjoy a very straightforward and authentic, very genuine relationship, one that’s built on trust and integrity, and I think that’s imperative for success in that position.”

Conversations are apparently so advanced she’s even talking about logistics of leaving Fox News, which she does lament:

“I really love what I do, and this job is tough to beat. At the same time, life is exciting and it’s about different chapters in your life, so I’m excited about the future.”

It def sounds like she’s ready to jump in with both feet!
The question is, how far out the door is Spicer already??
