What an idiot.
Just after the House’s vote to repeal ACA (AKA Obamacare) on Thursday, Donald Trump met with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, where he praised Australia’s universal healthcare system.
In case you’re unaware, Australia’s system, known as Medicare, gives citizens free access to doctors and public hospitals paid for by the government. Meanwhile, the GOP’s plan allows insurance companies to charge more to people with pre-existing conditions (which includes things like sexual assault and C-sections), temporarily defunds Planned Parenthood, and cuts funding for Medicaid.
So, basically complete opposites.

Referring to his bullshit bill, POTUS said in the meeting:
“It’s going to be fantastic health care. I shouldn’t say this to our great gentleman and my friend from Australia because you have better health care than we do.”
Wait, we actually agree!
Bernie Sanders led the country in a collective laugh, as he told Anderson Cooper in response:
“Well Mr President, you’re right, in Australia and every other major country on Earth they guarantee health care to all people. They don’t throw 24 million people off health insurance. So maybe when we get to the Senate we should start off with looking at the Australian health care system.”
Thank you Mr. Trump for admitting that universal health care is the better way to go. I’ll be sure to quote you on the floor of the Senate. pic.twitter.com/GTFRHiKw6k

Australia has a universal health care system, which they call “Medicare,” mixed with private insurance coverage. Kinda similar to├óΓé¼┬ªObamacare. https://t.co/fH0lrKFUS3
