Oh, we are so PISSED!
ICYMI, E! News‘ Erin Lim caused quite a bit of controversy on social media after she suggested Camila Cabello should change her last name because it is “difficult to pronounce and unnecessary.” Are you fucking kidding us right now??

No joke, Miz Lim made the comment while hosting her Snapchat segment called The Rundown. Obviously, this incredibly offensive suggestion had the Latin community up in arms on Twitter. As the former Fifth Harmony member is a proud Cuban-American artist, we can only imagine she appreciates her fans defending her online (below).
@erinlimofficial When u support the oppression of the Latinx community by erasing their identity bc their names are hard too pronounce. pic.twitter.com/x6Tm8E0d2b

@eonlineTV literally told camila cabello to drop her last name cause it’s difficult to “pronounce” and “unnecessary”. That’s so rude.

Unfortunately, Erin doesn’t seem to regret her words as she retweeted the following message from her boyfriend/New Girl actor, Lamorne Morris:
Shout out to the people that take Jokes on twitter too seriously. Congratulations ├░┼╕┼╜ΓÇ░ you’re stupid.

Snap! Snap! Not to mention, the TV host does culturally identify as Mexican and Filipino so she was probably just trying to make a joke. Although, no one really found the joke that funny!
But, at the end of the day, we doubt Camila is taking any of this drama to heart. In fact, the It-girl is embracing her cultural roots as she recently dished to Billboard about her upcoming solo career:
“I’m most looking forward to just finding more about myself as a person. In creating these songs I’ve really had to dig deep into what I want to talk about and what I want to say. And not just how I’m feeling but what do I want to tell the world about myself. Like who am I? My culture, my heritage. I just want to make music that I would want to listen to.”
SQUEE! We are especially looking forward to Cabello’s collaboration with Pit Bull and J Balvin. Keep doing you, girl!
