Ellen DeGeneres’ dreamy new home in England may have just turned into a nightmare… Or did it?
Over the weekend, reports surfaced that the new abode Ellen and her wife Portia de Rossi moved into in the Cotswolds region of England was hit with a nasty storm — and a whole lot of flooding! DailyMail.com reported on Saturday that the couple’s 43-acre property was ravaged by Storm Bert, leaving their home flooded just days after moving in. A local told the outlet:
“The flood waters are rising by the hour. This is the worst I have seen it in years.”
How awful! But luckily for the duo, their farmhouse is SAFE!

The former Ellen DeGeneres Show host took to Instagram on Sunday to share some sweet words in honor of her 20-year-anniversary with Portia. Alongside a selfie of the two in what appears to be the English countryside, the 66-year-old wrote:
“20 years ago today we began this relationship not realizing what a long beautiful adventure this would be. You are the best thing that ever happened in my life. You take care of me. You help me see the good in everything. You help to guide me and pick me up when I feel off or down. You are a beautiful soul that I am so very grateful to have as a partner to navigate this crazy life with. My wife. My best friend. The love of my life. Thank you for being you and loving me. So happy we get to travel and explore the world together in the next 20 years, and looking forward to our first snowy Christmas.”
Such loving words! Words which the controversial figure wrapped up with a quick mention of the flood rumors and the status of her new home. She wrote:
“P.S. for those of you concerned, our UK farmhouse did NOT flood.”

That’s good to hear! As we know, Ellen and Portia had been wanting to leave the US after the former was canceled over her alleged behavior on her talk show. Donald Trump‘s re-election just gave them the necessary push to do so! So how awful would it have been for them if their new digs flooded RIGHT after moving in?! Especially after she and Portia suffered through a similar storm in Montecito just a couple years ago!
Our hearts are with those who ARE affected by the storm!
