It’s been confirmed that Elton John and David Furnish are ready to move forward on an ambitious new film project through their company, Rocket Pictures. The movie will be a “pre-flight” look at one of the greatest musical artists of the time – ELTON!
The duo are joining forces with Billy Elliot writer Lee Hall on Rocketman, a film that will follow Elton’s journey to superstardom from the time he sat down to a piano for the first time to now. They are calling the project a “biographical musical fantasy that will weave together John├óΓé¼Γäós life and his music.” One of the producers from Rocket Pictures, Steve Hamilton Shaw, added:
“Rocketman will be a radically different kind of biopic. It will be as unique as Elton’s life, told in a non-linear and hyper-visual manner that will transport people through the many intense experiences, some wonderful, some not, that helped define Elton as an artist, musician and man.”
Such a timeless flight! Such a story to be told!
So very many few people who love Elton’s music actually know what he’s been through in his life and career. How marvelous that not only will his story get told, but Elton will be behind it every step of the way, making it as authentic as possible.
Now comes the HUGE question: who do they cast as Elton? Personally, we’re hoping they go with an unknown, but there might be someone out in the wilderness of Hollywood who could do.
