Elton John conquered the musical world several decades ago, but lately he’s been focusing on dominating the box office.
His production shingle, Rocket Pictures, most recently scored some big returns with the animated feature Gnomeo and Juliet and hopes to continue that success with other animated flicks.
Not only is the company developing a project from the director of Shrek 2, but it just snagged the rights to the bestselling book series Nerds (sadly, it has nothing to do with the candy).
They hope to turn the children books that follow a group of geeks who run a spy network from inside their elementary school into a profitable family feature.
Sounds like it could also be a television show on Cartoon Network or Disney XD too! This was a great acquisition and we hope Elton’s production company can turn it into something special!
