Eric Andre is opening up about his whirlwind romance with Emily Ratajkowski!
As Perezcious readers know, the pair was spotted on numerous New York City dates (and even a tropical vacation) earlier this year before ultimately calling things off last month. They sure went out with a bang, though! Just days before splitting, Eric and EmRata posed for an NSFW Valentine’s Day selfie that nearly broke the internet!

In the snapshot, the 39-year-old was spotted lying on a couch while naked, sipping a glass of wine. The only thing covering him up was a heart emoji. In a mirror behind him, the model wore nothing but a bra as she snapped two photos. It was really something else!! And it’s still up, so to speak.

HAWT!
Pretty quickly after the photo surfaced, we heard they broke up — so of course many wondered if the snapshot was the reason Em ended their “situationship.” But Eric is finally shutting the speculation down! In a new interview with Rolling Stone out on Tuesday, The Eric Andre Show host finally spilled the tea about the photo’s origins and what his relationship with the model was really like! He began by talking about the viral pic, saying:
“I was really in the moment … drinking wine, and she started dying laughing, and she was like, ‘I have to take a picture of this.’”
He continued:
“We both started cracking up. We both agreed this was a beautiful image that we had to share with the world.”
The Man Seeking Woman actor noted there “wasn’t much thought” behind the “iconic” image — just wanting to have a laugh. He explained:
“It was one of those things. I think that’s what art is about. Art is not intellectual; it’s primal. It has to speak to your hormones as much as it speaks to your mind.”
LOLz! Such a sophisticated way of saying they half-drunkenly snapped pics of their sexy date night! He went on to call the “spontaneity” of the impromptu photo shoot a “happy accident.” So, it doesn’t sound like the risqué image is what tore them apart, despite rumors.

Elsewhere in the conversation, the Disenchantment lead teasingly called himself “ugly” while addressing the public’s reaction to their short-lived romance. Comparing himself to Colin Jost and John Mulaney, who are in relationships with Scarlett Johansson and Olivia Munn respectively, he said sarcastically:
“How could this happen? I think that people think attraction is only based on physical appearance, but beauty is only skin-deep.”
He joked:
“You’d think comedy works.”
He wouldn’t be the first comedian who has managed to confuse the internet by linking up with gorgeous women! Not even the first one Emily has dated!
Later in the chat, the 2 Broke Girls alum complimented Emily for having so much “grace” while dealing with attention from the paparazzi, which caused him to be “concerned for her safety.” He dished:
“It’s legalized stalking. There’s a darkness to it. … She has the right to her privacy.”
Emily has been open about the media frenzy in the past, even calling out photographers for screwing up her casual dating dynamic! It’s nice to know at least one of her former beaus was understanding of the predicament! Thoughts? Let us know (below)!
