Frances Bean Cobain and Courtney Love aren’t typically seen together.
But all of that changed at Tuesday night’s premiere of the HBO documentary Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck.
The 22-year-old walked the red carpet with her once-estranged mother as they prepared to unveil an in-depth look at the life of the late Nirvana frontman, Kurt Cobain.
Frances Bean looked very grown up, donning an all-black jumpsuit, and Courtney was stunning in her gorgeous, red dress.
And Frances, who produced her father’s documentary, decided to say a few words before the lights dimmed:
“My name is Frances Bean Cobain and the reason I wanted to come up here and speak to all of you is because I have seen this movie six times. Initially upon seeing it, I felt like I could only watch it once and the reason I’ve been able to watch it six times is because of the film Brett made.”
Even though Frances recently told Rolling Stone she’s not the biggest fan of her dad’s music, she wanted to make this documentary to show Kurt’s human side. She added:
“What this movie will provide, hopefully, is a real understanding of who he was. And I feel like he’d be really proud to have this movie made about him. So I’d like to thank Brett a lot.”
