Giuliana Rancic Received A TON Of Death Threats Following Her Comment About Zendaya's Hair On Fashion Police!

As sad as it is to say, we’re not surprised Giuliana Rancic received death threats for her controversial comment about Zendaya on Fashion Police.
It was pretty offensive and while no one should be getting these scary threats, it happens far too often.

Since the incident, G has publicly apologized profusely to the Disney Channel star — and for the first time, she’s speaking out about the craziness:

“I read her statement and I was shocked. I made [the joke] as a reference to the hippie culture. It was a bohemian-chic reference, not about race, nor would it ever be. It was horrifying to have my name in a headline with words I have never been associated with in my life.”

The E! News host then went on to explain her reference:

“On set, I made peace signs and I said boho twice. It was edited. And my words were taken out of context. If I thought this joke could be interpreted another way, I never would have done it. I felt horrible. There were about 50 sets of eyeballs on set that day and not one person thought that it had the undertones that it ended up having once it aired because they heard it in context.”

Regardless of the context, we think it still would’ve have the same effect if it aired that way, too.

After the 18-year-old responded to the 40-year-old’s criticism, the negative reactions started pouring in. Giuliana said:

“I started very quickly getting death threats. People were sending me pictures of the barrel of a gun saying, ‘I’m going to kill your family.’ It was awful. It was a very unfortunate incident. I’m so regretful that people interpreted the joke [as they did]. I hurt people and I feel terrible about that. And I learned a really important lesson that if people are offended, it doesn’t matter the intent.”

It was a very unfortunate incident, but you live and you learn.
Hopefully she can take this new found knowledge and impart some wisdom on future hosts and people of the world!
