Heidi Klum displayed her glam rocker side for September’s Marie Claire Mexico — and we have an EXCLUSIVE sneak peek for you before the issue hits newsstands on Monday!
In the mag, Heidi opens up about all aspects of her life, including Project Runway, America’s Got Talent, and the modeling world!!
The flawless Victoria’s Secret angel even expressed candor when talking about aging, in an industry where looks are everything! She said:

“You can├óΓé¼Γäót fight it, it├óΓé¼Γäós coming, you have to embrace it, you just gotta roll with it. You have to understand that we all grow older. I├óΓé¼Γäóm 41 now, I know I don├óΓé¼Γäót look like I├óΓé¼Γäóm 25 anymore and I won├óΓé¼Γäót. I feel like I├óΓé¼Γäóm 41. I├óΓé¼Γäóm a responsible person, I have 4 kids, I have my own business, I know where I am in my life.”

Ch-ch-check out what other wonderful nuggets of exclusive info Miz Klum revealed to the magazine…AFTER THE JUMP!!!

On how she feels about Project Runway:
“This is now our thirteenth season, we’ve been filming for the last ten years and there’s not many shows out there that have been on the air for that long. So, of course I’m very proud of that, because at the time we tried to sell the show, it was very difficult because people didn’t understand why it would be interesting to watch designers make clothes.”
On her latest venture, America’s Got Talent:
“We are shooting at Radio City Music Hall, it’s with Howard Stern, Mel B. and Howie Mandel, which is a lot of fun and it’s very different from all the other projects that I├óΓé¼Γäóve done. It’s not about fashion, it’s about jugglers, magicians, dancers, ventriloquists, different fields of entertainment.”
On her fashion empire:
“I have a line with New Balance, the fitness company, I do clothes for Babies R’ Us, from infant and up to 5 years old. I do bedding and furniture, clothes and I do a show in Germany called Germany’s next Top Model.”
On being a fashion personality instead of a model:
“I’ve been very lucky. I always thought it was negative for me not to be in the high fashion world, because I never really did fashion shows or high fashion magazines, more commercials and catalogues and things like that. And in retrospect it was all great, because a lot of the high fashion models they come and they├óΓé¼Γäóre there for a season, maybe four seasons and then the next one comes. So, the time in this market is short and I’ve been in this industry now for 20 years because I’m very commercial. At the beginning I was sad about it, but now looping at it afterwards I’m happy that it was the way it was. Rejection makes you harder for sure. It makes you deal with things easier.”
On breaking the boundaries of a model:
“I always thought there should be other things for us to do than just being a face and just staring into the camera, or swinging your hair around, and saying one sentence at the end of the day. I always wanted to do more things and when I talked to my modeling agents at the time they just were not into it. I was like, ‘I wanna do this, I wanna do that, I wanna have my own perfume, and I wanna do TV shows’. I wanted to do jobs that are not straight forward fashion jobs. I had so many meetings and they were never into it, so I took chances that whenever I saw them. Like, for example, when I did Victoria’s Secret, I remember that├óΓé¼Γäós how my TV kind of world started. Because they would always have these extra people backstage, and they were always interviewing the models just the way we are always used to, so I was like ‘Give me that mic, I wanna interview the girls!’. And then people wanted me to do that, take the microphone and do backstage kind of stuff. It’s always important to have a good team around you, because if you only have good ideas but you don’t know who to call, that doesn├óΓé¼Γäót work. You have to surround yourself with people who understand what it is you want to do.”
On friendship in the modeling world:
“I never really was too long with anyone. I was kind of friendly with Tyra for a while, but we would never go out or have dinner together.”
On getting stage fright:
“I do get nervous. When I do the live shows I rehearse for four days straight. Morning until night. And they are like, ‘ok, tomorrow we are going to start at noon’ and I’m like ‘no, you guys can start later, the prompter guy and me, we are going to start at 7am and we will go through the text over and over again.”
On how she takes care of herself:
“I just eat pretty well. I don’t avoid anything. Sometimes I just pig out and I just eat whatever I want to. I just love good food. Exercise is also important, running for me is the best, I listen to hard hip-hop music.”
On being a tough reality show judge:
“I don’t usually get that human on TV in that sense. I try to not look at their home stories. I can’t be like, ‘Oh just because you have this horrible story I├óΓé¼Γäóm going to push you through.'”
On self-confidence:
“I faked to the outsider I was confident but deep inside I was not. I’ve done things like singing with Seal on stage. I’m not a singer, I was basically pooing myself in my pants before, but I did it because it was a challenge for me. I get satisfied by pushing myself to do things like that.”
