More than 20 years ago, Sir Elton John founded the Elton John AIDS Foundation in hopes of thwarting the terrible disease, and the organization has grown quite a lot over the past couple of decades!
On October 15th, the EJAF will be hosting its 12th annual An Enduring Vision benefit at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City, and it has a very impressive guest list!
CNN anchor Anderson Cooper will be hosting the event for the 7th consecutive year, and one of the major guests of honor will be Hillary Rodham Clinton!
The former Secretary of State will be given the Founder’s Award for her moving speech in Geneva, where she famously said “gay rights are human rights and human rights are gay rights,” and she’s also being recognized for her efforts to reach the goal of living in an AIDS free world!
It’s so great to see Elton John’s organization taking on such an important issue and making sure it doesn’t simply get swept under the rug!
Hopefully events like these will continue to raise awareness and get even more people talking about how we can beat AIDS, once and for all!
