Jake Gyllenhaal Says No To Tom Hardy's Sloppy Seconds! He Won't Be In The Suicide Squad After All!

It looks like Jake Gyllenhaal won’t be taking a trip to DC after all.
The Nightcrawler star was director David Ayer‘s first choice to replace Tom Hardy in Suicide Squad, but it wasn’t meant to be.
Sources are now reporting that Jake has passed on the super villain team-up movie.

Does Jake have the same issue as Tom?
Jake definitely has a full plate, with four different films to promote in 2015 — Accidental Love, Southpaw, Everest, and Demolition — so maybe he was too busy.
Or maybe it’s the role?
Jake and Tom are both known for their transformations. Maybe soldier Rick Flag just isn’t an interesting enough part for these chameleonic thespians.
