Jared Leto's Weight Gain For Chapter 27 Gave Him GOUT! Read The Heavy Story HERE!

jared leto gout weight gain chapter 27
We’re so glad Jared Leto has gotten back into acting after that break, but we really wish he’d take roles that didn’t have him physically messing with his body!
It’s dangerous!
He’s probably going to win an Oscar for his role in Dallas Buyers Club, where he lost a TON of weight — but it was his role in the 2007 biopic Chapter 27 (where he gained SIXTY SEVEN pounds) as Mark Chapman that put him in health trouble!
If you don’t know who that is, he’s the fan who assassinated John Lennon.
Luckily, that experience has led him to vow to never put on weight for a movie again, because it effed with his health!
It gave him GOUT!
Here’s what he said:

“Really, it’s a stupid thing to do. I got gout, and my cholesterol went up so fast in such a short time that my doctors wanted to put me on Lipitor, which is for much, much older people. Again, though, a fascinating journey.”

Gout is a type of arthritis, in which crystals of sodium urate can form inside joints, causing swelling and redness. It usually effects the elderly, or severely overweight people!
Here’s how he said he lost that extra weight:

“I lost a lot of it by going on tour, not straight away, but I was still kinda waddling around on stage for the first few dates, and eventually it came back off, thank God.”

We’re glad too! That isn’t healthy!
Also, we hope the gout cleared up — and we hope it doesn’t come back when you get older!
