We’ve seen two major reactions to the social distancing mandate during this year’s unexpected Coronavirus pandemic: those who are diligently staying at home as much as possible to keep themselves and everyone else safe, and those who are just kind of shrugging it all off and doing what they want.
(There’s also the crazy hoax people, but best not to think about how may of them there are if you don’t want your day ruined!)
So what happens when folks of each kind share custody of a child? That’s apparently what’s happening with exes Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum!

As you may have seen, on April 26 Channing celebrated his 40th birthday with a dirt bike ride at his California ranch. But not alone! He also had five good friends with him! Yep, that’s definitely a teensy violation of the social distancing guidelines (unless they kept their helmets on the whole time we guess?).
Just a couple days later he was spotted hanging out with on-again, off-again girlfriend Jessie J. And since they aren’t exactly quarantining together, that’s another step out of bounds, right?
Well, that might be all well and good for Channing, a relatively young, extremely fit guy who may not be worried about getting sick. But the problem is he also shares custody of daughter Everly, who goes back and forth between spending time with him and her momma.
According to a new report from TMZ, Jenna heard about the partying and “expressed concerns” to Channing that he could have been infected with the virus and pass it on to their daughter! And she could in turn pass it to her and her newborn son Callum, who she shares with fiancé Steve Kazee! So you can grasp why they’d want to be especially cautious about social distancing.
The outlet’s sources tell them Channing was actually really understanding about everything and volunteered to get a COVID-19 test right away before seeing Everly again.
And good news: it came back negative!
Afterward, Jenna apparently gave her ex a little extra time with Ev to make up for it, and then they went back to their normal schedule. Seems like some pretty effective co-parenting conflict resolution to us!
If only they could have reached this level of effective communication while they were still together, right?
