Jon Hamm Wants To Be Batman! But So Do Billy Eichner & James Corden…

It would appear Superman isn’t the only role up for grabs today!

Ben Affleck may not officially be out yet, but let’s be honest — he’s had a foot out the door for months.

And Jon Hamm at least sees the writing on the wall because when asked about taking on the role of Batman in an interview with Graham Bensinger on Wednesday he did everything he could to say GIVE ME THE DAMN PART!

First, he reminded Warner Bros the Internet wants him:

“I have had rumors about that since probably season one of Mad Men. I have never had a conversation with anyone about it, literally. And I’ve sat in the room with all these guys. I have never been offered anything. I think the Internet wants what it wants. But, I mean, a lot of people have to sign off on that, obviously not just the Internet.”

Then he gave a preview of how he’d sell this comic book movie as one that was different, better, but also true to the source material as he was a big fan:

“It depends on the script, what the story is. I am a huge comic book fan, always have been. I have read comic books since I was nine or younger. And I am pretty knowledgeable about a lot of them. And I like the genre, and I like when they are done well.”

Then he backed off and played a little harder to get — while still reminding them he’d be willing to get into superhero shape, so long as he gets an offer, not an audition:

“I’d probably fit the suit. I’d have to work out a lot, which I don’t love. But, I am sure there is an interesting version of that being out there. And if they wanted to tap me on the shoulder and ask me to do it, why not?”

Masterful. Or should we say… Master Wayne?

One person not down with Jon as the new Batman? Billy Eichner.

He could keep the streets of Gotham clean AND loud. LOLz!

Of course, someone else wants the cape and cowl as well…

Eichner’s response? Classic ALL CAPS Billy.

Who do YOU think should play the next Batman??
