Is the cast and crew of 22 Jump Street ready to laugh again?
The comedy came to a screeching halt this week after Jonah Hill regrettably used an anti-gay slur against a paparazzo in New York.
He’s since apologized and explained why he made such a horrible mistake.
But as awful as his comment was, Jonah’s director Phil Lord is standing by him and defending the two-time Oscar nominee!
Phil was asked about the incident while walking the red carpet of the sequel’s premiere last night. He said:

“We’re just trying to move past those comments. It was obviously disappointing, but the Jonah we know is different than that.├óΓé¼┬¥

Mr. Hill’s co-star Ice Cube also offered up his opinion about the mess Jonah made, saying:

“Jonah’s a good guy. I think his apology is very sincere, and all the guy can do is apologize for saying something stupid.├óΓé¼┬¥

Both Jonah and his partner in crime fighting Channing Tatum were on hand to greet and take selfies with their fans.
Either NYC takes their gay slurs WAY serious these days or the studio sent two cops to pose in pics with the stars on the red carpet.
We think it must be the latter…
Ch-ch-check out ALL of the pics from the 22 Jump Street premiere (below)!
