Jonathan Van Ness lost his cat, Bug the 2nd.
On Wednesday on Instagram, the Queer Eye star shared the devastating news while posting the photo you see above.

In the caption, the Netflix personality revealed his furry friend passed away after the animal fell from an open window.
JVN wrote:
“*Sensitivity Warning* At some point last night while I slept my baby Bug fell from an open window and passed away. I’m hurting so bad today I can’t put it into words, for anyone else experiencing grief & loss, I’m with you. I’m sharing this mainly because if you see me around the next few days I won’t be my typical happy self and that’s okay. Not sure how I’m going to make this loss mean something more but in the meantime, please make a donation to an animal shelter near you.”
In an unfortunate twist, the hairdresser adopted the cat last September after losing his 13-year-old feline, Bug.
Back in August 2018, the podcaster shared a pic of Bug, with the text:
“Loving you is the best thing that ever happened to me. Rest In Peace my beautiful baby, the world will never look quite the same to me without you in it.”
In addition to Bug the 2nd, Van Ness also brought home kitten, Liza, from the KC Pet Project.
R.I.P. Bug & Bug the 2nd. You guys will be missed.
And in other JVN news, on Thursday via Twitter, the reality TV personality declared he canceled his Equinox membership after it was revealed owner Stephen Ross will host Donald Trump and guests for a fundraiser on Friday at his home in Southampton, New York.
Jonathan penned:
“Cancelled that membership @Equinox & as if! I never paid those outrageous non discounted ass [SoulCycle] prices”

He joins a long list of other members, celebrity and non, who quit the upscale fitness club after the news broke.
The gym has released a statement saying Ross “is a passive investor and is not involved in the management of [Equinox and SoulCycle].” They wrote:
“To our community,
Many members raised their concerns about a political fundraiser taking place later this week.
We want to let you know that Equinox and SoulCycle have nothing to do with the event and do not support it. As is consistent with our policies, no company profits are used to fund politicians. In fact, we are committed to all our members and the communities we live in.
We believe in tolerance and equality, and will always stay true to those values. Mr. Ross is a passive investor and is not involved in the management of either business.
We appreciate all who have reached out to us.”
Of course, we call BS on that — as we do NOT believe he qualifies to be “passive.” Thoughts??
