Well, we can’t say we didn’t see this one coming?!
After months of speculation, odd ball quotes about alone time, and spending a PANDEMIC apart, Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich have finally confirmed they are ending their marriage.

In a joint statement released Friday via People, the former couple shared:
“We have lovingly and carefully taken the time we have needed to arrive at our decision to separate. We share an abundance of love and respect for one another and will continue to lead with our hearts from that place. We kindly request your compassion and respect for our privacy moving forward.”
This comes just a few days after the now ex-couple were seen seemingly acting flirty in back and fourth Instagram comments! Following Laich posting a series of steamy lake “thirst trap” pics, Jules commented:
“This is awesome haha also the fact that you just figured out what a thirst trap is… ”

But like we said at the top — there have been months of speculation about their marriage, so are you really shocked by this?! Just a few weeks ago, Julianne gushed about spending time along during quarantine! Don’t know about you guys — but if we had a hot AF spouse, we’d be all over them during a lockdown!!
Hough took to Oprah Magazine and shared her fondness with solitude:
“I’m really enjoying this time where I can connect to what’s really important in my life. Being on tour for three months and traveling and starting a business … it’s a lot. So to be able to be home, and stop and pause, and look inward, and connect back to myself has been glorious. I’ve been on my own. My husband is in Idaho doing lots of yard work… and so we’re kind of doing our separate things right now. But it’s really been a magical time.”
Magical but separate from the man you vowed to be with?? Hmm…
She went on, saying:
“I think in my 30’s, I’ve always been around people, and I’m always trying to create and do a lot of things … but this is new, it’s a little different. I don’t feel lonely, but I definitely feel alone. I think there’s a big difference. I feel alone … I miss people a lot, I want to hug them and talk to them, but I’m really enjoying this time where I can really connect to what’s really important in my life and look forward to when we get out of this [coronavirus pandemic]. Who do I want to step into? Who do I want to arrive in this new world as?”
In retrospect, guess she wanted to step into being single!

On the flip, her former beau has also been really open about his solo time during the COVID-19 crisis, even revealing he’s had no sex drive and was putting all his energy into yard work:
“It’s all Idaho bush, I’m cutting down trees, clearing brush. After that, I took supper and I make a fire and then I’m wiped out, I really don’t have a sexual charge, I’m so wiped out. During this quarantine time, I’m not in the proximity to my wife. I’m not in the same room with her, and with what I’m doing here, that my sex drive wouldn’t be at its peak.”
Distance does not make the heart grow hornier!?
While the split appears to be amicable now, let’s hope it stays that way! At least no children are involved, right? Thoughts on all of this, Perezcious readers? SOUND OFF in the comments!
