Looks like there’s no shortage of brotherly love between Brooks Laich and Derek Hough!
The pro dancer turned 37 years old on Sunday, and his brother-in-law was there to help him celebrate with a festive, fun Instagram photo and tribute message to mark the big day.

Calling him the “incomparable” Derek Hough, the 36-year-old former hockey player gushed over his wife Julianne‘s big bro, writing publicly on social media:
“Happy birthday to my bro and one of my absolute favorite adventure buddies, the incomparable @derekhough! I absolutely love spending time with you D, whether it’s on an epic adventure or just hanging at the house. There’s never a dull moment, and I never know what we’re going to get into — and I love ya for it! Thank you for being you, and the way you have touched my life — I am so grateful for all of it. Love you my man, happy birthday!”

In addition to the nice message, Laich also showed off a GoPro photo of the pair on a fishing boat during one of their recent adventures out together:

Back To Good??
Normally, these bro-tastic birthday wishes wouldn’t be such a big deal, but this year is another story. As we’ve been reporting over the last couple months, Brooks and Julianne have been living apart and practicing social distancing completely separate from each other amid the coronavirus pandemic: the former hockey player has been staying at their home in Idaho while Hough has kept low-key back in Los Angeles.
Parallel reports suggesting the pair had hit “a rough patch” in their marriage have further complicated things a bit. And just days ago, fans wondered whether Julianne had “slipped” in recent public comments and gone so far as to possibly confirm her split from her husband! Drama, drama, drama!

At least for now, though, things appear to be… somewhat normal? It’s at least good to see Brooks and Derek are clearly on good terms, right?! But what that may mean for the Dancing with the Stars star and her marriage, well… it remains unclear.
