Bye-bye, Air Yeezy, we hardly knew ye!
Kanye West had a lucrative and highly successful deal with Nike just a few years ago, but after having some issues with the brand, he’s moving on and hooking up with Adidas!
That’s like dumping your girlfriend and then dating her worst enemy!
Apparently, Yeezy was frustrated that Nike did not offer him any royalties on the Air Yeezy and Air Yeezy 2, and has signed a much better deal with Adidas, which WILL give him the royalties he so desperately needs to support his family and little North West!
During a recent interview, Kanye explained his reasoning:
“So the old me, without a daughter, would have taken the Nike deal because I just love Nike’s so much. But the new me, with a daughter, takes the Adidas deal because I have royalties and I have to provide for my family. Nike told me, ‘We can├óΓé¼Γäót give you royalties because you├óΓé¼Γäóre not a professional athlete.’ I told them, ‘I’ll go to the Garden and play one-on-no one.’ I├óΓé¼Γäóm a performance athlete.”
He also dropped some quotes that are guaranteed to go into the Kanye West Quotables archive. He said:
“Whatever is official, non-official, official├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥what y’all gonna see is I’m gonna be the Tupac of product.”
Somebody put “Tupac of product” on a t-shirt, stat!
And in case you were wondering, ‘Ye plans on being bigger than Walmart:
“I’m gonna be the first hip-hop designer and because of that I’m gonna be bigger than Walmart.”
The first hip-hop designer!!! Bigger than Walmart!!!
We can’t make this stuff up.
