BREAKING NEWS: Karl Lagerfeld and Barbie had a baby together!!!
Yup, just when you thought Barbie and Ken were going to be a couple for all time, Karl swept Barbie off her feet and produced a child with the plastic doll.
Just kidding, that’s super creepy!!
But while while the Chanel designer didn’t literally reproduce with Barbie, he did team up with Mattel to create an expensive, exclusive, high-fashion Karl Barbie!
The doll is a female version of Mr. Lagerfeld, complete with some of his favorite attire and accessories. Because fingerless gloves are a necessity!!
These dolls won’t exactly be child’s play, however — there will only be 999 of them made, and they’ll retail at around $200 each. Additionally, they’ll only be available at Karl Lagerfeld boutiques, Collette, Net-a-Porter, and thebarbiecollector.com starting September 29th.
While it’s disappointing that Karl Barbie’s high price tag will keep her from being available to the masses, we do have to applaud Mattel for creating such an accurate doll version of the living fashion legend.
