People are still talking about that wild season 18 premiere of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, where Kim Kardashian West and big sis Kourtney Kardashian literally came to blows over a disagreement.
Even Jimmy Fallon got in on the action this week when doing his late-night show from home. He interviewed the KUWTK leading lady herself on Monday, and all he wanted to do was discuss the moment that led to fisticuffs between usually-close sisters!

Speaking to the host of The Tonight Show: Home Edition via video call in order to practice good social distancing, the reality TV maven recalled a VERY funny moment relating to the fall-out from the fight. When Kris Jenner first saw a clip of the physical altercation, Kim revealed she cried!!! Awwww!
The beauty biz head honcho explained it all:
“When my mom saw that, a clip of that, she cried. She was like, ‘What is going on? Who are you guys?’ But it was intense. I don’t really ever resort to violence like that. But [Kourtney] scratched me so hard. You couldn’t see, but I was bleeding. And so you didn’t really get see that detail [on the show]. When I looked down at my arm and saw she had had really scratched me and I felt it on my back, I just, you know, went over and slapped her back. It’s not like my proudest moment but we were going through it.”
Going through it, indeed! And poor Kris… we can only imagine her in both roles — as mom and as manager — working so hard to professionally and perfectly present the girls, only to have them blow up on each other one day. Oops! Feel for ya, Kris.
Kim also revealed the fight has already changed some things on the show. For one, production took a full week off filming immediately afterward, opting for time away so cooler heads could prevail. Kanye West‘s wife revealed more to Jimmy, saying:
“We shut down production for a week after that. Everyone was really shook for a minute and just was like, ‘This isn’t like our type of show. [Fighting] is not really what we do.’ We want everyone to be comfortable and safe.”
No kidding!!!
Kim also shared an interesting tidbit appearing to confirm Kourt’s (at least temporary) departure from the E! show. North West‘s momma explained how she and her 40-year-old sis are “obviously” fine now, but also reinforced her sister’s departure:
“Kourtney has made the decision to take time off now. I think she really needs it. I think that will be so much better for her.”
Um, yeah! She needed the time off after last season — and everybody was shocked she even returned at all for season 18! Still, this is probably the right move for everybody involved, and it allows Kourt to get a low-stakes breather while the rest of the show continues on unabated.
Social Distancing Done Right!
In another segment, Kim explained more about her own social distancing experiences this month, sharing details into how things have been going at her house! You can watch more of that segment (below):
Awww! Good for the Kardashian fam. No doubt it must be tough to keep four young kids occupied and sane all day long cooped up in the house like that, but it sounds like they’re making it happen!

There was a serious side to last night’s interview, too, as Kim spoke passionately again about her criminal justice reform crusade — and her ongoing journey to become a lawyer. In fact, her sit-down on the matter was a particularly impactful one about having empathy, as you can see here:
A very good reminder for the work Kim is doing, indeed, but also during more generally difficult societal times such as what we’re all facing now, too. Empathy is a wonderful trait!!!
