Kim Kardashian fought it at first, but as it turns out, son Saint West‘s new venture with his YouTube channel is working out very well! And it’s not just because of the content he’s posting, either. It all has to do with how the 8-year-old is bonding with his big sister North West over it!!
So, Kim popped up at the Kering Foundation‘s annual Caring For Women dinner on Monday night in Manhattan. Set between the parties and runway walks and high-end events of New York Fashion Week, the gala was an opportunity for three different charities to come together and raise money to combat violence against women and girls. A very worthy cause!!
The stars were out for the event, too. In addition to Kim, who co-chaired the evening, other co-chairs included Salma Hayek, François-Henri Pinault, Donatella Versace, and Naomi Watts. A star-studded lineup — and even more impressive that they ended up raising nearly $3 million for Girl Effect, It’s On Us, and the National Network to End Domestic Violence! Such important work!

But the cutest story coming out of the high-class charity auction gala came when the Kardashians star took to the red carpet! While walking it into the venue to begin the night’s festivities, ET tracked down Kim and asked her how Saint was doing with his newly created YouTube channel. She replied:
“Well, follow Saint on YouTube, because he stalks me every single day. It’s hard because I’m here, and I need to approve every video.”
That’s true! That mom-first video upload approval is all part of the contract! (More on that below, BTW.) But the real story came when the interviewer probed more about Saint’s on-camera experience. And as it turns out, his YouTube project has been an instrumental way for him and his 11-year-old sis to bond!! Explaining how it’s made the connection between Saint and North even tighter, the SKIMS mogul said:
“I will say that it’s brought him and North closer together, because she is filming his content and making him do challenges, so I film some behind the scenes, and it’s actually a blessing in disguise. I was fighting against this, but it’s working.”
Awww!
It’s so cool to hear that he and North are coming together on this project! We’ve known for a while now just how creative Nori is. So, clearly she is down to lend a hand to her little bro as he ventures into the world of social media!
BTW, Kim was no doubt “fighting against” her son’s YT goals, as she alluded to, because just last week news broke about the contract that she made Saint sign to ensure that he would keep the family’s private life private even while diving into the social media venture. You can re-visit more on that HERE! But if Saint abides by his momma’s rules AND builds an even tighter bond with his big sis, it sounds like a win-win to us!
