Kylie Jenner recently took an emotional walk down memory lane with her daughter.
On Wednesday, the makeup mogul appeared the premiere episode of Kid Cudi’s new Big Bro podcast, where she opened up about all things fame and motherhood. The Day ‘n’ Nite rapper at one point asked if there have been any moments where Kylie’s kids, Stormi, 8, and Aire, 4, “realized that they’re in the spotlight.” According to Kylie, it’s “pretty normal” to them. Between seeing fans come up to her “asking for photos” and whatnot, it’s become an expected aspect of their lives. She did note that Aire doesn’t quite grasp the concept as much as Stormi does, though:
“She asked me the other day, ‘Why are we famous? Why is our whole family famous?’”
What a loaded question! Kylie went on:
“That’s crazy, actually, I’m like, let me try to answer this for you … I think now that she’s in school, she’s asking more questions.”

The 28-year-old noted that some of Stormi’s school friends are fans of her dad, Kylie’s ex Travis Scott, so it’s all “becoming more present in her mind.” She went on:
“I sat her down and went, ‘We started a television show when I was a year older than you, and that’s why we’re all in this together, because we were all on the show together.’”
Kylie was just 9 years old when Keeping Up With the Kardashians premiered in 2007. The reality star went on:
“[Stormi] was like, ‘Can I watch it?’ And I’m like, ‘Sure.’ So we turned on the first episode, and some things I didn’t realize were inappropriate, so, like, right when I knew it was about to start playing, I fast-forwarded through all the inappropriate stuff. But I showed her, like, a cute scene of a house party that we had, and just some little things that I knew were fine. She was like, ‘Okay, mommy, when can we watch episode 2?’ And she kind of left the room.”

And that’s when the floodgates opened for Kylie:
“I was so emotional after, like, I don’t know what hit me, but I was weeping in my bed. I don’t know why that happened to me, maybe I was just, like, maybe it’s my daughter being the same age as I was, and just seeing my family, and, you know, just feeling so grateful for all that we’ve built. But also mourning that closeness when we were all kind of living under the same roof. It was very emotional, I didn’t know it was going to hit me like that.”
Awww! How beautiful is that! Kylie added having the show is like having “super public home videos.”
“It’s a blessing.”
