Lala Kent Explains Why She Reached Out To Rachel Leviss After Scandoval - And Why She Regrets It!

What?! Lala Kent attempted to extend an olive branch out to Rachel Leviss while filming the new season of Vanderpump Rules?!

During the premiere episode of Season 11, the 33-year-old confessed to Lisa Vandermpump that she could empathize with Rachel in how she felt “isolated” during her months-long affair with Tom Sandoval. Lala had similar feelings during her controversial relationship with her baby daddy and ex-fiance Randall Emmett. And in an unexpected move no one saw coming, Lala even decided to send a voice note to Rachel asking to have a one-on-one conversation with her — despite her decision not to return to the show!! She told the 29-year-old:

“Hey Raquel, I’m sure I’m like the last person you expected to hear from. I hope you’re doing okay. I don’t know if you’re back in LA or not, but I’d like to have a conversation with you at some point, if you’re open to that. Hope to talk to you soon.”

Of all the cast members to contact Rachel, no one would have guessed Lala would be the one to do so, especially since she was the one to go OFF on her during the reunion! Not to mention that Ariana made it clear she does not want to be pals with anyone close to Sandoval and Rachel. So, viewers immediately questioned how Ariana would react to her reaching out to Rachel. Would she freak out? Or would she understand Lala’s decision? Thankfully, we found out soon afterward!

The podcast host confessed what happened to Ariana during a girls’ night out. It is safe to say the Broadway star wasn’t happy! She slammed Lala in a confessional about the double standard of her actions, noting that the mom of one made everyone cut off communication with Randall after their breakup. Oof. She has a point!!

Lala initially thought she did the right thing. But now? She completely regrets reaching out to Rachel! During Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Tuesday, Lala explained she only messaged Rachel to wish her luck in this next chapter, thinking she was going to live a normal life. However, that ended up not being the case. She then revealed the former SUR waitress never responded to her voice note — something she is beyond grateful for now! She pointed out that “the universe really protects me at all costs,” explaining:

“Cut to she does Bethenny [Frankel]’s podcast and I’m like, ‘And I never would have reached out to you had I had a crystal ball.’ I thought she was going to go bag groceries at Vons or something, and live a normal life, you know? I wanted to say, ‘don’t wear this forever, good luck in life.’ It wasn’t like, ‘Come! Be in the friend group.”

Hmm. Even if Lala had good intentions with that, she had to have known contacting Rachel would hurt and annoy Ariana! We would not be surprised if this topic came up again — and if Ariana went off on Lala! But we’ll see what happens! You can watch the interview (below):
