Liam Payne 'Begged' Girlfriend Kate Cassidy To Stay In Argentina In 'Heated' Dispute Days Before He Died

Liam Payne “begged” his girlfriend Kate Cassidy to stay in Argentina just days before his death.

As Perezcious readers know, the couple had been vacationing in Argentina, but on October 12, Kate decided to head back home to Florida early, a decision the One Direction star was pretty upset about, her friend is now revealing. On Friday, a friend of the influencer’s told the New York Post that Liam was “very unhappy” that his girlfriend wanted to return home to see her dog after traveling for weeks. She explained:

“Liam didn’t want Kate to leave Argentina. He wanted her to stay. She says he begged her to stay. It was actually a little more heated than you’d think.”

Oof.

Apparently, the Strip That Down crooner was super “moody” when she chose to leave, the pal added:

“He didn’t know why she would leave him, but she wanted to be home with her dog. He didn’t like that at all. He was really moody about it.”

Apparently, the trip was only supposed to last five days. They went to the country to see Niall Horan perform — but then the trip kept getting extended. It ultimately got too long for Kate, and that’s when she bought herself a ticket home. The confidant shared:

“She had been there for a long time and wanted to come home, and he gave her no indication of when he’d be ready to leave. So she took things into her own hands and got herself a ticket to go home. He was really unhappy about that. He made sure she knew that.”

Despite having a disagreement about the vacation, the friend insisted that they “weren’t having trouble” otherwise. Now, as you can imagine, “she’s devastated” over the loss. Liam jumped from a fourth-story hotel room on Wednesday after acting erratically while allegedly intoxicated. It’s unclear if the fall was intentional, and the death is still under investigation.

Following the What Makes You Beautiful vocalist’s death, there have been lots of reports about how he spent his final days, including the revelation he was partying with two women just hours before his death, per local authorities. Of course, this is heartbreaking news for his partner, her friend shared:

“She just has heard about the prostitutes. She knew nothing about that. She just said she has to wrap her mind around it.”

Aw, man. How tough. Kate’s currently processing this all, the insider went on:

“That’s obviously a huge betrayal to her, and that hurts a lot. She hasn’t stopped crying. She’s devastated. She’s got a good support system around her, but this just went from bad to worse. She’s not OK.”

Liam must have been really upset when she left because, as this friend claims, it doesn’t sound like the couple had split or were facing other relationship struggles that may have led to this behavior. So sad.

Thankfully, the content creator has lots of love surrounding her in this difficult time, her friend urged:

“She has a few people around her, including family members. She’s not alone. She’s responsive to me and our other friends. We’ll all help her however we can.”

Kate’s father also spoke to the outlet, noting that “she’s grieving” at her family home in a suburb of New Jersey. On Friday, the family put a “do not disturb” sign on the front door of the home. On the same day, she wrote on Instagram:

“Thank you for all of the kind words and love that has been sent my way. I have been at a complete loss. Nothing about the past few days have felt real. I ask and pray that you’ll give me the grace and space to navigate this in private. Liam, my angel. You are everything. I want you to know I loved you unconditionally and completely. I will continue to love you for the rest of my life. I love you Liam.”
