Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli are finally doing right by themselves, by the law, and bringing a sense of peace to their family.
After more than a year of fighting the charges brought against them in the now-infamous College Admissions Scandal, the couple has recently opted to plead guilty and accept the consequences of their actions. As reported, the Full House star has confessed to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud, while her husband admitted to one count of honest services wire and mail fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud.

While this does spell out jail time for the embattled couple, sources close to their family described this outcome as a relief for daughters Olivia Jade and Bella Rose, who reportedly encouraged their parents to step up!
Speaking to People, a legal source divulged how the 20-year-old and 21-year-old former University of Southern California students have been responding to the plea decision:
“The girls have been very supportive of their parents throughout this whole ordeal.”
As we mentioned at the top, it’s been over a year since Lori and Mossimo were arrested for their crimes back in March 2019 and their daughters are finally ready to put this behind them:
“They were encouraging their parents to fight this, but that’s obviously all changed now. They realize that this was done to help them and there is no animosity there.”
It wasn’t easy getting to this point, though! Recent insider info suggested the sisters were struggling with their parents’ choice, and according to another source, the idea of their mom and dad being locked away in prison is what largely influenced their stance:
“The girls’ biggest fear has been that their parents would go to jail for years.”
But whatever difficult conversations took place behind closed doors must have really turned a page for everyone.
The pair’s deal states the actress will serve two months in prison, followed by 100 hours of community service and two years of supervised release, plus a $150,000 fine, and the fashion designer will spend five months in prison, 250 hours of community service, two years supervised release, and a $250,000 fine. It’s highly likely based on how things played out with Felicity Huffman, who was released before the end of her two-week prison sentence, that Loughlin and Giannulli won’t serve their full terms either. Of course, that remains to be seen!
In the end, the guilty plea was a group decision that wound up as a relief for everyone involved:
“They all had a family discussion about their options before making a decision. Olivia and Bella also want it to be over and they agree the plea is the best option. Lori and Mossimo don’t feel like they gave up; they’re doing what’s best for their family.”
Still, we can’t imagine it’ll be easy for them on the day Lori and Mossimo are actually taken away. As reported, they are set to be sentenced formally on August 21. We’re sure they’ll be pushing to start their sentences at home still!
