Mama June Shannon’s Husband Was The ‘Biggest Rock’ For Family During Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell’s Cancer Battle

During Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell’s health battle, Mama June Shannon’s husband was doing “everything” he could to help make things easier for the family.

The late reality star’s funeral was held on Wednesday, just days after she sadly lost her battle against stage 4 adrenal carcinoma. People was in attendance, and caught up with her sister Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird to talk about the journey. She had nothing but nice things to say about Mama June’s man, Justin Shroud — who she asserted was the “biggest rock” for the reality fam through it all. She explained that he “carried 90% of the weight” through Anna’s cancer battler, specifically during her time in hospice, as he’d provide medicine and run errands “for her and everybody else.”

The 23-year-old added that the help allowed Mama June to just be a mom to the late 29-year-old, and to spend as much quality time with her as possible — which she thinks is “amazing.” She told the outlet:

“Because he’s not blood, it was even that much more amazing how he really just stepped up and [showed us] what a good person he is.”

What a stand-up guy! Mama June is lucky to have such a thoughtful husband.

Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson agreed with the sentiment, echoing:

“I mean, he’s not even blood, but he was doing everything.”

So sweet.

Mama June and Justin got hitched in a courthouse wedding last year, and said “I do” again in a more traditional wedding ceremony in February of this year.

The outlet reported that the funeral saw guests sharing their favorite memories of Anna, with Lauryn pointing out how much she loved her two daughters, Kaitlyn, 11, and Kylee, 8.
