Did you know that Michelle Tanner was outfitted in expensive designer duds on Full House?
Well she was, and that’s apparently why the Olsen Twins are so obsessed with fashion today!
In an insightful interview with The Edit, the two fashionistas opened up about their career paths and the things that influenced their choices back when they decided to tackle their own label.
Ashley brought up the good ol’ days of their Full House wardrobe fittings, saying:
“We├óΓé¼Γäód be in six-hour fittings three times a week, because we had to wear 12 different outfits.”
And these weren’t your typical wardrobe fittings; the girls’ outfits mostly came from Chanel and Marc Jacobs, which were cut and sewn to fit. This put the twins in an unusual situation, according to Mary-Kate:
“We were designing clothes for ourselves as we were so petite. So I think that is when we became obsessed with fit, and now the obsession has become a profession.”
And a highly lucrative profession at that!
MKO and Ashley are now well known and respected in the fashion world for their ultra luxe label, The Row, amongst other successful fashion projects.
Crazy to think it all started with a classic family sitcom!
