Meghan Markle is in need of a getaway, and apparently isn’t going to let coronavirus stop her!
The Duchess of Sussex’s birthday is fast approaching on August 4, and she’s planning on getting out of town for a soirée, COVID-19 or not.

A friend explained to DailyMail.com that Meg is feeling “cooped up” due to all the time she’s spent at home over the last few months, and is looking into planning a getaway to celebrate her big day. However, don’t expect a mega party to go down!
The insider says any attendees would need to be tested for COVID-19 in advance, and that the guest list will be limited to close friends only at the outdoor function:
“Whatever she ends up doing for her birthday, Meghan said it will be low-key. She said she doesn’t want to come across as being careless and irresponsible.”
So where will Archie Harrison‘s momma choose to visit? The confidant says she’s looking to get out of Los Angeles and head to Montecito where her friend Oprah Winfrey lives, who set up Meg and Prince Harry in Tyler Perry‘s mega-mansion back in March.
The family of three — four including Meghan’s momma who just moved in — have been laying super low since arriving in California, which we have a feeling they’d opt for even if the pandemic wasn’t going on. Let’s just hope that if the Suits alum does choose to go on a little trip she’s as safe as possible, but even that has gotten others infected with COVID-19.
This new info of Miz Markle’s intended mini-vacay comes after it was announced that bells would not ring out of Westminster Abbey in honor of her b-day, though they are ringing for Princess Anne‘s birthday just 11 days later. A spokesperson for the Abbey shared:
“The bells are usually rung to mark the birthdays of senior members of the Royal Family, and through the line of succession to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their children.”
Inneresting… Harry is still technically in the line of succession for the British throne, above his aunt Anne. Guess we’ll have to wait until September to see if the bells ring for his birthday.
