Mel Gibson's New Movie Gets A 10-Minute Standing Ovation At Premiere! Are YOU Ready For A Mel Gibson Comeback??

no title
This is a surprise — but definitely a good sign for the upcoming movie!
Mel Gibson‘s big Hollywood comeback may have started Monday night at the Venice Film Festival in Italy, where the notoriously stingy festival-goers gave him and the cast of Hacksaw Ridge a TEN MINUTE standing ovation after the screening!

The film, a World War II action drama directed by Gibson and starring Andrew Garfield and Vince Vaughn, had its red carpet world premiere at the prestigious festival last night, and the audience going crazy is an indication of just how well this movie will be received.
Hacksaw Ridge centers on the story of Desmond T. Doss, played by Garfield, the real-life conscientious objector whose pacifist tendencies saved the lives of 75 men in Okinawa during the war.
Gibson told the press corps before the film’s premiere:

“[The film is about] a man who does something extraordinary and supernatural, really, that inspired me. A lot of attention needs to be paid to our warriors; they need some love and understanding. I hope this film imparts that message. If it does nothing but that, that’s great.”

The notable ten-minute standing ovation would indicate that yes, at the very least, that last of Gibson’s objectives may end up being achieved when it is released in theaters November 4.

Wow!!
Beyond all this, though, is also the question of Gibson’s resurgence in Hollywood after a long layoff centered on multiple controversies away from the camera. Before Hacksaw Ridge, the last film he directed was 2006’s Apocalypto, and his acting credits have slowed in recent years, too — he’s mostly starred in direct-to-home-video releases like Get The Gringo and Blood Father.
With this, however, Gibson may have a major hit on his hands — and a major comeback in the works.
