Jersey Shore star Mike Sorrentino was sentenced to eight months in prison and two years of supervised release for tax evasion on Friday.

The MTV star was facing a max of five years in jail after pleading guilty to the charges in January, so it looks like the judge let him off easy as prosecutors suggested.
His brother, Marc, wasn’t so lucky. Indicted at the same time as Sitch on tax evasion charges, Marc was sentenced to two years in the slammer and a $70,000 fine.
Still, the reality star was photographed looking at ease on his way out of federal court in Newark, NJ, holding fiancee Lauren Pesce’s hand with most of his castmates in tow.
Pauly D, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, Vinny Guadagnino, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, and Deena Cortese all dressed in black to accompany the 36-year-old to court. As Sitch was receiving his sentencing, they roamed the streets of Newark, filming an episode of their reality show, of course.

Mike’s attorney Henry Klingeman told TMZ of the sentencing:
“Mike accepts the Court’s judgment. He is looking forward to marrying his college sweetheart, Lauren Pesce, next month and moving forward together after he serves his sentence.”
We can only hope there will be at least one Jersey Shore Family Prison Visit.
