Miley Cyrus knows Nothing Breaks Like a Heart, and she isn’t ready to give up on her relationship with estranged husband Liam Hemsworth just yet!
As we reported, the pair recently called it quits less than a year after getting married in December 2018. As multiple sources close to Miley and Liam have come forward with conflicting tales of cheating, out-of-control drug use, and more shocking allegations about the former couple, it has become apparent this (temporary?) break is more timely than ever.

However, according to a People report published on Thursday, the Wrecking Ball singer is having a hard time letting go of all the good that came with the bad during her time with the actor!
One source close to the actress revealed:
“They have a long history together, and that’s a huge part of why she has a hard time letting him go. At the end of the day, she wants to be happy, and she genuinely wants Liam to be happy too.”
The long history cited here goes way back to 2009 when Cyrus met Hemsworth on the set of The Last Song, marking the beginning of their tumultuous relationship to follow.
The duo dated on and off for years before the Hunger Games star proposed in 2012, although they called off the engagement and their relationship altogether the following year. By 2015, the two were back on again and eventually made their way down the aisle three years later in 2018.
Fast-forward to present-day as Cyrus and Hemsworth are dealing with the recent split in their own ways.
Right now, it appears the 26-year-old is working on her personal happiness by spending plenty of quality time with Brody Jenner‘s ex, Kaitlynn Carter. While we still don’t know what will become of the girlfriends’ new union, it’s clear there is something real going on.
Sources close to them have said the two are definitely seeing one another, though they stressed it isn’t exactly serious, with one saying Miley is “just having fun.” Most recently, the blonde beauties were photographed driving around laughing in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
Sounds like fun, indeed!
Although, with this new tidbit of information, we’d be lying if we said this recent activity didn’t make us question if Miley really misses Liam at all…
Several insiders close to the situation agree their relationship had taken an unhealthy turn, with the (above) mentioned source adding their separation “is for the best right now.” And, the woman is certainly entitled to do whatever she wants and explore her hearts’ desires while they figure out the next best step for their future.
With that being said, we can only imagine this PDA-filled fling with Kaitlynn will undoubtedly make it harder to reconcile with Liam if they decide to later down the line.
On the flip side, Chris Hemsworth‘s brother has retreated back to Australia for a beach getaway and is leaning on his family during this difficult time.
The 29-year-old recently released a statement slamming any “false” quotes attributed to him about the breakup, writing:
“Hi all
Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward.
This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false.
Peace and Love.”
