Miranda Cosgrove Reflects On Terrifying Incident With Stalker Who Lit Himself On Fire & Shot Himself In Her Yard

During an interview with Bustle published on Friday, the iCarly star got candid about her living situation after a horrifying incident occurred on her property. Years ago, a man who had been stalking the 30-year-old camped out near her home and opened fire on a woman driving by who reportedly looked like Miranda. The woman ended up being okay, but the message it sent would have been enough to scare Miranda for life… But the stalker later did something so terrifying that the Nickelodeon star is still trying to recover eight years later.

In a final act in 2016, the man made his way into Miranda’s yard, lit himself on fire, and then proceeded to fatally shoot himself.

HOLY S**T!

And because of it, the School of Rock star just hasn’t see her home as a safe space since. She told the outlet:

“That’s another reason why I go back and forth to my parents’ house so much. I just don’t feel super safe in that house. For two years after it happened, I wouldn’t really stay there. Then I got into a relationship and because that person was there with me, I was less scared. But I don’t really like being there on my own that much.”

Uhhh, yeah, we don’t blame her at all!

She noted that a “huge goal” since turning 30 last year has been to find a new place where she can feel “really safe,” and to “start a new chapter,” but it just hasn’t happened yet. She did, however, run into the lookalike the stalker shot at years later at a kitten rescue event:

“This girl came up to me, and she was like, ‘I didn’t know if I should tell you this here or how to say this, but I’m actually the girl that was at your house that got shot at.”

And the two ended up sharing even more similarities than just physical appearance — like how they processed the situation. Miranda continued:

“She seemed like she processes things in a similar way that I do. She said she’d just gone through a breakup the night before and was going to her friend’s house because she was so distraught. When they brought her into the Hollywood Police Station to ask what he looked like and how it all happened, the detectives were like, ‘Start from the very beginning. What happened?’ And she was like, ‘Well, he broke up with me last night,’ and she started telling them all about her breakup.”

What a traumatizing thing to go through… We really hope Miranda can find a comfortable new home where she can feel safe and secure.
