We’ve got another Dr. Phil on our hands!
According to new reports, Oprah Winfrey is giving show regular Dr. Mehmet Oz his very own show!
Thanks largely in part to his appearances on the Opes’ show, Dr. Oz has been dubbed “America’s Doctor”.
The doc has an impressive resume. He’s currently serving as the vice chair and professor of surgery at Columbia University and director of the Cardiovascular Institute at New York Presbyterian Hospital and co-wrote the bestselling books, You: An Owner’s Manual, You: On a Diet and You: Staying Strong.
Word of the new show is hardly shocking news, as Dr. Oz has long been seemingly groomed by Oprah to go out on his own.
Last year, in a highly touted Oprah Winfrey Show ‘first’, O handed over the talk-show reins to the doc, leaving him to host an episode on his own with an audience full of men asking their most TV-appropriate-embarrassing medical questions.
Dr.Oz’s show is scheduled to hit the airwaves in the Fall of 2009.
We already like Dr. Oz more than any of the other people Oprah has championed, like this freaky lady!
