Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Stepping Down As Senior Members Of Royal Family With A 'Progressive New Role'!

Color us royally shooketh, Perezcious readers, because Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are OFFICIALLY untethering themselves from the royal family after months of personal turmoil!

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex took to Instagram on Wednesday to make the shocking announcement, writing that they have “chosen to make a transition” to a “progressive new role” that will apparently see them balancing their time between the UK and North America.

According to the post, this effort will see Harry and Meg stepping back “as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family” and working to become “financially independent” so they can have “space” from the palace while focusing on raising their son Archie.

Despite this big “adjustment,” however, the couple insisted they still “fully support” Harry’s grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, and will continue to “honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages.”

Basically… it’s not you, Your Majesty — it’s them.

We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen. We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages. This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity.
