New details about Princess Catherine‘s outfit during her latest sighting have emerged — and they’re not helping to deescalate conspiracy theories!
As we’ve been following, Kate Middleton was spotted for the first time publicly on Saturday after undergoing abdominal surgery in January. (You know, aside from those highly debatable pap shots.) This time around, she was seen with her husband Prince William leaving the Windsor Farm Shop not far from their home Adelaide Cottage. Considering the whole world has been worried sick about her health and whereabouts lately, it was a noteworthy outing!
But, similar to all her other paparazzi sightings this year, it hasn’t been without its controversies. Fans quickly speculated that the woman in the video WAS NOT Kate! Yes, really! There are several reasons people are skeptical — from the woman’s height to her quick stride and even the Christmas decorations in the background (though that last theory has already been debunked). But now sights are being set on her outfit!

The 42-year-old has always been known for her fashion, which made her casual fit over the weekend very striking! For the shopping trip, she rocked sneakers, black leggings, and a black jacket — which actually has a bigger meaning! See the OOTD (below):

According to the Instagram account @royalfashionpolice on Tuesday, the mother of three was sporting an Umbro Men England Rugby Icon Hoodie that is reportedly worth $72. The most conspiracy theory-worthy detail?? It was released for a “past season.” So, anyone still hung up on the notion this video may have been from a previous year is gonna eat that s**t up!
As for the bigger significance, Kate has publicly supported Team England since Queen Elizabeth II appointed her as a patron of England’s Rugby Football Union and Rugby Football League in February 2022 upon redistributing the roles from Prince Harry when he stepped back from the royal family. Meanwhile, William has been the patron of the Welsh Rugby Union since 2016, a traditional title for the Prince of Wales. So, they’re big rugby fans!
And because of this, Kate could’ve just been supporting her team! Especially since they had a game that day! On Saturday night, England played against France in a Six Nations Championship match. So, the future queen might’ve just been representing her fave team by wearing the hoodie. And honestly, it’s not that weird to wear merch from a past season. Everyone does that! But with all the conspiracy theories flying around, NOTHING can be ignored at this point!
