The Queen Is Coming To Daytime! Latifah Getting Her Own Show From Sony!

Now see, this we can get behind! She has the personality of Oprah, the spunk of Wendy Williams and the energy of Ellen DeGeneres!
In other words: she’s perfect!
Queen Latifah is turning back the clock and giving a another stab at having a talk show. Her first attempt with The Queen Latifah Show only lasted two seasons, but this time around, she might just have the backing to make it work. Her new show is slated to go up in the fall of 2013, with the help of co-producers Will Smith, James Lassiter’s Overbrook Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television. Latifah will also act as executive producer along with Overbrook’s Lassiter, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith.
The fact that the show isn’t getting fast-tracked for next fall is actually a good thing, if you ask us. It means that the team – a dream team really – is taking their time to really develop the show, perhaps look at Queen’s last talk show and see what went wrong. If they approach this right, which we think they will, this may very well be a big hit for all.
But no stress if it doesn’t pan out either. Seriously, Queen has such a career, if another talk show flops, we know she’ll land on her feet regardless.
