R. Kelly Taken Into Custody Over Unpaid Child Support Payments

R. Kelly taken back into custody

Heading back to jail!
Only hours after his explosive interview with Gayle King aired on CBS This Morning on Wednesday, R. Kelly has landed himself back in custody after failing to pay his child support payments.

In case you haven’t been keeping up with the disgraced R&B singer, he was facing jail time if he didn’t hand over the nearly $200,000 he owes his ex-wife Drea Kelly today. And considering a local Chicagoan paid the $100K bond on his $1 million bail, it’s no surprise he couldn’t make this huge payment, either.
After today’s court hearing on his failure to pay up, it’s being reported Kelly will be transferred back to Cook’s County Jail… a place he knows all too well by now.

It was only late last month that the 52-year-old was arrested and charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx outlined the Surviving R, Kelly subject’s indictments, which involve four alleged victims, three of whom were younger than 17.

He spent the weekend in custody at the prison, later pleading not guilty.
And in his sit-down with King while out free on bail this week, he became visibly upset as he claimed his accusers were “absolutely” lying. He stood up and shouted:

“Stop it. You all quit playing! Quit playing! I didn’t do this stuff! This is not me! I’m fighting for my f**king life! Y’all killing me with this s**t! I gave you 30 years of my f**king career!”

Wild stuff!
Kelly won’t be released from jail until he pays the $161,663 he owes. Until then, his next court date is March 13.
Darrell Johnson, a person claiming to be a publicist for the controversial star, claims his client was ready to hand over a portion of what he owes, but didn’t have access to the full amount as he hasn’t been able to work.
Johnson hopes R. Kelly will be released in a week from now on next Wednesday.
You can see footage from him walking into his hearing (below):

Stay tuned for more info, especially as CBS plans to air more of King’s interviews this week.
In the meantime, sound OFF on the controversy (below)! Think he’ll be able to pay up or will someone else have to bail him out??
